Castle Cary station is situated two miles from Westfest. Please do not attempt to walk to the event as there are no footpaths on the road and it is not safe to walk along. Last year, someone was killed walking on the roads for Westfest.
Westfest provides a shuttle bus service that takes you directly to the event which costs £5 return which must be paid by cash. This service starts at 16:30 on the day of Westfest and runs through to the last train - please do not arrive earlier than 16:30. Please note that there is no ATM at the station and you will need to bring £5 with you for your return shuttle bus fare.
The shuttle service resumes at 08:00 following Westfest, in time for the first train of the day. People travelling on the return service will be held at the showground until the service resumes. Again, please do not attempt to walk to the station due to the danger of the roads.
Please be sure that you have the correct train ticket for travel to and from Castle Cary station. Revenue protection teams will be present on both Saturday evening and Sunday morning checking that people have their correct train tickets and will issue fines to people who do not have valid tickets for travel on the trains.
